Job Summary

  • Employee is in training for a period of at least six months and is then required to obtain Class III certification within one year of employment.
  • Operates pumps, belt presses, sandfilters, gates and other wastewater equipment.
  • Drains and cleans traps, walls, weirs, channels and wetwell; rakes and cleans the screens.
  • Reads flow charts, chlorine scales, and other monitoring equipment and records measurements.
  • Checks operations of pumps, motors, sludge collection and handling equipment, chlorinators, etc.
  • Collects and flow-proportion samples for laboratory accent.
  • Performs D.O. PH Settleable sounds, chlorine residual, and sludge blanket measurements.s
  • Monitors plant processes and advises the Supervisor of alarms or significant changes.
  • Changes chlorine, mixes polymer, adds chemicals to waste water as necessary.
  • Cleans building and equipment.
  • Cuts grass with mower.
