The City of LaGrange Human Resources department is looking for an executive assistant to perform a variety of personnel-related administrative tasks. The successful candidate will support the HR department in duties including posting job ads, payroll data entry, updating our HR database and processing employee’s requests.

Our HR administrative assistant position requires excellent organizational skills, a positive attitude and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Our HR department is a fast-paced work environment and requires time management and the ability to prioritize multiple assignment.

Major Responsibilities

  • Maintain human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications and merit increases
  • Conduct new employee orientation, processing payroll information; explaining and obtaining signatures for benefit program
  • Documents human resources actions by completing forms, reports, logs and records.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; Technical school or college preferred
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated computer ability with MS products
  • Ability to work well with the public and internal customers
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Should type at 50 wpm
